HARISSKA — DIY Publishing Label

Harisska Records

Harisska was a performed publishing label (2014-2018) dedicated to promote and produce independent obscure music figures of the Mediterranean Sea through found tapes in southern France, Magreb area and slightly beyond.

It outputted approximately 400 hand-made cds and tapes, from mastering, duplicating, up to artwork and recycled sleeves production, through approx. 20 releases.
It operated locally in France and dispatched along mail-art and LP distribution all around the world for the most curious ears to (re)discover long-time lost materials or archival pieces. This project got attention from Bibliothèque nationale de France "Depot Legal department" for its archiving quality and purpose, aswell toward rediscovering reissue from lost content and rare phonograms like we find in diy, punk, noise and ethnic music. Therefore, each of this label's release will become available to look at or listen at the Bibliothèque nationale de France during the year of 2026, as in the phonogram archives of the library.
